Coffee and Distractions

I'm sitting here with a mug of coffee thinking about all the chaos of the past couple of months. The Lyme Garden went from being a wish for kids like my son to have someone to connect with that understands, to being an actual online entity ready to be filled with like-minded kids and their families; repeated attempts to make our home look less like some sort of ground-zero and more like...well...a home; potty training; end of the school year stuff and getting past my son's last health mini-crisis that over-stressed his already stressy liver (detoxing is so much fun!) and left him only able to do 1/2 days at school...no big loss though, it's the end of the year!  Yay!

I look over at the kids in the other room. One's playing the Wii and carrying on a great conversation with the game characters, the other is watching the beat up old TV brought up from the basement so that they both have a screen to complain about. Or rather, she's watching when she's not racing up and down the hall, pestering her tired Daddy who just wants to spend his day off in his chair, standing in front of her brother to see just how much she can annoy him without getting in trouble, trashing her room, being the reason I haven't seen the cats in a couple of hours (it's amazing how well 3 indoor cats can just disappear....where do they go???), and trying to convince me to hand over the mouse so she can play some games. Life with kids is never dull!

So, what am I going to do next....what next?....what....next....... Well, I could make another attempt at finding the kitchen, work on that book I've been reading for the past 6 months (I'm sure my Mother-in-law would really like to have it back), try to remember what it was I was going to do when I sat down here and got distracted from my chores, spend a little time trying to get The Lyme Garden out to those who might benefit from it (any suggestions on free, ethical promotion would be nice...I'm broke but I'd like to keep TLG a nice, honest place).......I think I'll just sit back for a minute and enjoy my coffee..................

Coming dear! Put that thing that used to be a bowl in the sink and quit pestering your brother, please! Be right there after I hit the "submit" button! No, kitty does not want the bowl on her head, put it in the sink please! Don't you dare go near Grandma's book with that marker and don't leave the controller on the floor! Well, dear, that's what happens when you pester kitty, you'll live. Wait, who just stole my coffee???
